Traveler, dancer, acro yogi, employee, woman. I have been involved in various sports and dances since I was a child. My love for movement and continuous cultivation naturally turned into yoga practice. Through yoga asanas, my ‘I’ gradually became flexible and allowed my body to create what it was created for – to experience joy and pleasure in life.
I felt the beneficial effects of yoga when I started practicing every morning. It is no coincidence that in most traditions morning practice is set as the main one. Bulgarian wisdom reads: “The day is known in the morning.” Every beginning is important, every new day is a new life. Еven if one has never practiced yoga, intuitively everyone stretches in the morning. At night, when we are at rest, our blood circulates and carries the necessary substances to the organs and tissues. In order to nourish the joints, however, it is necessary from the rest in which the body has been for hours to move smoothly into activity. The joint fluid should be separated to become the necessary lubricant, bringing the joints and our entire musculoskeletal system in condition.
Morning practice is also a great workout for the mind, which tends to drag us into the future, especially at the beginning of the day. If we manage to keep our focus in the present, when we have a long, busy day ahead of us, we can be sure that we are holding the reins of the ever-jumping monkey well.
Yoga in the morning is a challenge – both for the body and the mind. I invite you to embark on it with an open heart and a smile on your face! Because by putting yoga practice first in our day, we put the well-being of our body and mind first on our list of priorities. So how else would we be happy?
